Meet The Author

How many times have you said to yourself, I would love to meet that author?  I myself have said it many times.
Well, did you know that many authors sign and discuss their books at many locations?
Do you know where you can learn about those locations? One of those locations is in the St. Pete Time on Sunday, in the  Latitudes section.  Yes every week their is a listing of where certain authors will be discussing and signing their books.  Libraries are another place you will find notifications of authors signing. Social media is a big platform to find where authors would like to meet with you.
Just like you who says, I would love to meet the author,  The author would love to meet you.  They love the show of support.
Now, I am an author of a number one best seller, “The Other Brooklyn”.  I will be discussing and signing my book at the following venues.  On 2/13/2016 at the Port Charlotte Book Fair at Bayshore Park, 23241 Bayshore Rd., Port Charlotte, Fl.  From 10AM 3PM
On 2/20/2016 at Barnes & Noble at 2501 Tyrone Blvd. St. Petersburg, Fl. From 1-3PM
on 3/19/2016 at The Venice Book Fair in Centenial Park  Downtown Venice. From 1PM to 2PM
Please come and support all the authors that will be there. They would love to meet you.

Everyone Has A Story To Tell

I was talking to a friend of mine and he asked me why I started to write at the age of 71? Why didn’t you start at an earlier age?  I said to him I never felt I could even write a letter, let alone a book.
So what made you start at 71?
I told him what had occurred. So here it is.
This person I knew kept bugging me to write something down and she would put it in the proper order. She said with my background in life there must be a story in there. After a couple of years of her badgering I said I would write something down.  I went home and that night I started jotting down different things that happened in my life. After reading it back I decided this story was too true, so I decided to write a fictional story.  When I started to write this fictional story about organized crime, I kind of got carried away. I couldn’t stop.  I wrote about 50 pages and sent it to her to see what she thought. She called me and said she could not stop reading it and that it was a great story don’t stop now.
I continued writing that story and wrote 2 more within 4-5 months. The first story was The Hitman, the second one was The Franchise and the third one was The Final Offer. I tried to self publish these books but it went nowhere.
I finally found a real publisher and told her I want to put all three books in one.  She said that is a great idea. We published The Other Brooklyn in May of 2015 and with her help and the marketing person on her staff my book, “The Other Brooklyn” went to Number One on May 16 2015. This book is in the Organized Crime category on Amazon.com and since then my book has done well. I am working on another book and it should be out soon.
So I want to tell you, everyone has a story to tell. Why don’t you tell yours? Just start writing about your life or a fictional story. We all have one. You will be surprised how it flows.  Don’t worry about commas, run on sentences ETC. an editor will take care of that.
Just Start Writing. Have some fun.

 Writing A Blog

I went on my website administrator page, www.BobIeva.com, put in the title, (Writing A Blog) then go to the body of where I will put down what I have to say.
I start typing away (finger typing, I cannot type) and I am typing away without looking what I was typing. I look up and see nothing on the page. Where is everything I typed? The only thing I see is the cursor about 100 places from where I started typing. Well I could not understand why this happened, the only thing I could determine is that I was in an invisible App. How do I get rid of the invisible App? Where do I turn it off from? This was driving me crazy because I am not very tech savvy. So I said to myself, “Self what would someone else do if this happened to them?” Then it hit me go to, GOOGLE and ask how to shut off the invisible App in my blog. And guess what, I couldn’t find the answer there. I was amazed that I stumped GOOGLE. Well I pondered on this for a while and decided that I would go to word and write it there and then save it, and copy and paste it into my blog. So, I did and of course that didn’t work either. I was really getting aggravated so I had to figure out what to do. I decided to call my web designer. DUH.
As it turns out the visual section of my new post on my administrator page was not working. I found this out from the best person I should have called first, my web designer fixed it immediately. Now I can see what I wrote.
Sometimes I wonder about myself. I think I need to be more tech savvy.
What do you think?
